10ft shipping containers for sale, Hawke's Bay
The 10ft container is the easy one to place: it fits down a driveway, sits neatly behind a fence line, and gives you a dry, lockable steel room without dominating the yard. We keep 10ft units in stock at our Napier yard so you can inspect before you buy.
What people use 10ft containers for
Garden sheds that actually lock, pool-pump and tool storage, small workshop overflow, market-stall storage, and compact site boxes for trades. Because a Hiab can lift a 10ft into tight spots, it's the go-to for residential sections in Napier and Hastings where a 20ft won't fit.
New and used stock, checked before it leaves the yard
Every container we sell is inspected at our Onekawa yard — doors swing freely, seals are sound, floors are solid, and the unit is wind and watertight. Used 10ft units come and go quickly, so if we don't have one on the ground, we'll tell you honestly when the next arrives rather than making you wait blind.
Delivery across Hawke's Bay and beyond
We arrange Hiab delivery to Napier, Hastings, Havelock North, Central Hawke's Bay, Wairoa and Gisborne at competitive rates, and can ship nationwide. A 10ft can also be modified — man door, window, shelving or power — before it's delivered.
10ft shipping containers — common questions
How much does a 10ft shipping container cost in NZ? +
Used 10ft containers start from $3,200+GST, B grade units from $4,100+GST, and new-build 10ft high cubes from $4,850+GST. Transport is quoted separately per address. Modified units (doors, windows, lining, power) are priced per build — use the online configurator or call 06 835 3010.
Will a 10ft container fit on a residential section? +
Usually, yes. A 10ft is about the footprint of a single-car garage cut in half (3m × 2.4m). Our delivery truck needs access for the Hiab to lift it into place — send us a photo of the spot and we'll confirm before you commit.
Do I need council consent for a 10ft container? +
In most Hawke's Bay districts a container placed as a temporary, moveable structure doesn't need building consent, but rules differ by district and placement (boundaries, flood zones). We're happy to share what we've seen work locally — check with your council for your specific site.
Can I view 10ft containers before buying? +
Yes — our yard at 15 Thorn Place, Onekawa, Napier is open Mon–Fri 7:30am–5pm and Saturdays by appointment. Come and look inside the actual unit you're buying.
