We're a local, family-owned yard — not a franchise, not a call centre. The people who answer the phone own the business, work the yard, and have spent 50 combined years living and working in the Bay. That's why our answers are fast and our stock is real.
A family business, not a branch office
Containers Hawke's Bay is family-owned and family-run. There's no head office in another city, no franchise playbook and no sales targets pushing you into the wrong container — just a Hawke's Bay family that's been buying, fixing, converting and delivering containers here since 2008.
Being local isn't a marketing line for us: we know which Napier streets a 40ft truck can turn into, how coastal air treats steel at Te Awanga, and what orchard blocks need before harvest. When you buy from us, the money stays in the Bay — and so does the accountability. If something needs sorting, you talk to the family that sold it to you.
How we work
Since 2008 we've supplied containers to households, farms, orchards, builders and businesses across Hawke's Bay. The model hasn't changed: keep real stock on the ground at the Onekawa yard so nobody waits blind, price sharply because our overheads are a yard and a phone (not a national ad budget), and have the owners make decisions on the spot.
Our qualified engineer handles every structural modification — cuts framed and welded properly, not improvised — and all electrical work is installed and inspected by certified electricians with compliance paperwork supplied. It's why our conversions hold up and our customers come back for the second and third container.

Man doors, roller doors, ranch sliders, poly panel lining, painting. Modifications are done properly, not bolted on.

Electrical work on any office, sleepout or fit-out is inspected and electrically certified before it leaves the yard.
Owners on-site, daily
No call centre. On-site stock means no waiting, and decisions get made by the people who own the place.
